Water scavenger beetle Enochrus ater (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) – a new species for Czechia and Slovakia

Abstract

First records of the water scavenger beetle Enochrus ater (Kuwert, 1888), based on two male specimens, are presented for Czechia and Slovakia. We provide notes on the distribution and habitat preferences, and discuss the collecting circumstances of the sampled specimens. In conclusion, we present a few notes on the identification of this
species.
