The occurrence of the bark beetle Lymantor aceris (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) in Czechia

Abstract

The distribution of Lymantor aceris (Lindemann, 1875) in Czechia is summarized. The species is currently known from five faunistic grid squares and recently is restricted to Bohemia only. With regard to its remarkably fragmented occurrence, we consider L. aceris a relict species and propose to classify it as endangered in the national red list.
