New data about distribution of Odonteus armiger (Scopoli, 1772) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea: Geotrupidae: Bolboceratinae) in C and SE Poland.

Abstract

In Poland, Odonteus armiger (Scopoli, 1772) has been recorded at relatively few and scattered sites distributed across most of the country's area. The species prefers meadow habitats, pastures, and wastelands adjacent to forest edges, as well as open oak forests. Most historical sites were located in the south-western part, while most observations made after 2000 come from the south-eastern part of the country. The study includes 12 new locations of the species, mainly located in the Eastern Beskid, as well as in the Western Beskid, the Roztocze, and the Mazovian Lowland.
