Abstract
During the period 2014–2017 we studied taxocoenoses of weevils (Curculionoidea excepting Anthribidae, Platypodidae and Scolytinae) on four study sites in the Záhorská nížina Lowland. We used sweeping as an almost exclusive collecting method. Altogether, 174 weevil species were recorded. Taxocoenoses on all four sites showed a different relation to the humidity level. Hygrophilous meadow was found to have the highest biodiversity as well as equitability (0.886). As trophic specialisation concerns, most species recorded were narrow oligophagous (43 %). Additionally, following stenotopic species were recorded: Bagous petro, Involvulus pubescens, Lignyodes suturatus, Lixus paraplecticus, Mecinus janthiniformis, Rhabdorrhynchus echii, Rhinoncus bosnicus, Sibinia sodalis, Smicronyx nebulosus.
