Abstract

This work provides a check-list of 1500 species and subspecies of rove beetles belonging to 23 subfamilies which are actually known from the Slovak republic. The work is an update of the last checklist of Staphylinidae (Boháč et al. 1993) from the territory of Czechoslovakia, it reflects new system of the family Staphylinidae which was a subject of many principal changes in last 20 years, it gives brief comments to new faunistical records, brief overview of the faunistical literature and corrections of the last checklists of Staphylinidae (Boháč et al. 1993, Löbl & Smetana 2004 and Schülke & Smetana 2015a, 2015b) from the Slovak territory.
