Exotic beetles, spiders, colourful butterflies, centipedes, praying mantises, enchanting ‘living’ leaves – these insects have won the hearts of visitors to the exhibition halls during previous editions of the International Insect Exchange Days and Entomological Fair. This event has been organised by the Horoslez Museum in Bytom twice a year since 2025. The next opportunity to come ‘face to face’ with a live praying mantis will be on 31 October this year.
Preparations are underway for an exceptional event: the 4th International Insect Exchange Day and Entomological Fair at the Horoslezské Museum in Bytom. Following the success of the fairs in 2025 and February 2026, we are once again inviting everyone – from insect enthusiasts to curious newcomers. A visit to the museum on Saturday 31 October will be a unique opportunity to admire the diversity of insects from around the world – from colourful butterflies, through exotic beetles and giant spiders, to fascinating live specimens!
It is also an opportunity to purchase unique exhibits and materials:
- collectible insects,
- entomological equipment (preparation supplies and other tools),
- entomological literature (books, guides and atlases).
What’s more, the fair is a real treat for our youngest visitors. As you stroll through the exhibition halls, you’ll be able to see live insects – observe them up close, learn about their habits and fascinating behaviour. The event offers the chance to expand your knowledge, exchange experiences with experts and meet entomology enthusiasts from both the Czech Republic and abroad.
Who is this event aimed at?
Everyone! You don’t need to be an expert to take part. If you’re even slightly interested in the natural world, this is the perfect opportunity to:

- Tickets? 25 zł (standard ticket, including access to the exhibitions), 2 zł (concessionary ticket for under-15s). The price includes a promotional ticket for selected museum exhibitions.
